Family Cookbook

My husband and I have been meaning to put together a list of our family favorite recipes.
Putting this compilation together will help us in several ways. It helps us come up with an answer when the question, "What should we have for dinner?" comes up. It helps with our grocery shopping list. It provides a central repository for our favorite recipes. Also, we have been meaning to collect some recipes of our favorite foods from family members, and this would be a great place for us to put them.
If this works out, we can print our collection and use it as our "official family cookbook". How neat is that?

Each member of our household has very different food tastes. This makes meal planning very difficult.
  • Jon is our carnivore. A meal isn't a meal without meat. As a matter of fact, give him a hunk of meat, and he'll gladly call that a meal even by itself. Vegetables seem to annoy him. He's okay with starches. One time, he was very disappointed with a "salad bar restaurant". A meal without meat does not feel like a meal to him.
  • Cindy is the rabbit food eater. She loves vegetables, poultry, and seafood. She does not like red meats very much. She also likes beans. She is okay with starchy foods like potatoes, rice, and pasta, but she is fine without those too. Was in heaven in the aforementioned "salad bar restaurant".
  • Cassie is made of starch. Noodles, pasta, breads, rice. Don't put sauce on her spaghetti. A big plate of just plain noodles makes her happy. She does not like meats much, with the exception of her beloved corned beef or bacon. Bacon also makes this girl very very happy. She has been known to order a bacon sandwich. She loves seafood and Japanese food, and has always had an adventurous palate. Was very happy in the aforementioned "salad bar restaurant".
  • Sasha is the picky toddler. So far, she hasn't quite shown what direction she's leaning. She happily nibbles on foods from any of the categories above. She will not, however, touch a potato unless it is in french fry or potato chip form. She has also been known to put away pickles, cucumbers, green peppers, and her grandma's prime rib. So far, her favorite foods are rice and oatmeal. She hums when she eats a food that she likes.

Cassie loves her bacon sandwich.
